Description
The pink hue at the Rooster Church in Da Nang is a particularly special point of attraction for visitors. The Rooster Church in Da Nang is the common name for the Da Nang Cathedral (officially known as the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus). This is the cathedral of the Diocese of Da Nang in Central Vietnam, and it is the only church in the city built during the French colonial period.
According to believers, the rooster symbol on the church roof is a weather vane. Whichever direction the rooster is facing indicates the wind direction. According to the parish priest, the image of the rooster is not a symbol of France but is associated with the story of St. Peter recorded in the Gospels, serving as a reminder for descendants to wake up and repent.
