Description
The Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Reservoir is known as the largest artificial lake in the Southeast Asia region, with a length of up to 70km. The reservoir has a huge capacity and possesses 47 large and small islands. The landscape within the lake resembles an oil painting with mysterious hues, featuring the pristine and incredibly romantic beauty of the hydroelectric reservoir.
Currently, many islands in the lake area have been invested in and developed into high-end eco-tourism areas, such as the Green Island, Coconut Island, and the Windmill Guesthouse. Most notably is Coconut Island, where the unique culture of the Muong people is vividly and authentically recreated, with large stilt houses designed in the traditional style of the Muong people.
